Before the ShowYou
will be receiving a written confirmation of the plans, dates
and times you made in scheduling your party. About 3 days before the show, Randy will need an updated count of the number of guests you're anticipating. You can email this to him at rsnedden@closeupmagic.org if you prefer. Finally, Randy will be
contacting you by telephone a few days before the show just to confirm
the details one last time and to assure you he will be there and be
on time. If you have any last minute questions, please ask away!

Set Up
Plan on Randy arriving approximately 1 hour or so before showtime. He will need about 1 hour to move his equipment and set up for the show and will need to do so away from anyone who will be in attendance. A good rule of thumb on accomodating the space needed for the show is about 15' in front of the performance area and several steps to either side. Please see my Frequently Asked Questions page for more information. The chart shows a preferable seating arrangement – accommodations can be made if your area is small. It is preferable to have your guests in another room during set up time. If possible, the ideal situation would be to have your guests begin to arrive about 30 minutes before the show's scheduled start time. If you are renting a large hall or assembly room and will have it the entire day, please let Randy know in advance. If he can accommodate it, it may be possible to set up well in advance of the show so that things are ready to go before your guests arrive. We regret that Randy cannot delay the start of the show to await tardy guests. In order to treat all of his clients fairly, it is essential that Randy be on time for all performances. He plans party times and travel time to allow for this and, as such, any delays would be a disservice to his other clients. Randy will need access to
an grounded electrical outlet. We will provide an extension
cord to facilitate this. Some of the illusions he performs
may involve playing music CD's or Tape Cassettes.

During the PerformanceFor the most part, you can relax during the performance and concentrate on doing other things if you like. Randy will keep your guests entertained and busy, so you need not worry. Please note parents with children aged four and under should sit with their children since younger children are often fidgety or have a lapse of attention. Please feel free to take as many photos as you'd like during the performance. In fact, we encourage you to take photos! Those small momentos will help to make your event more memorable and revered. In
addition, we post show pictures on this website as a way of helping
everyone to remember your event. Please feel free to submit
digital photos to magicpics@closeupmagic.org and we'll get them posted
as soon as possible for you. The
Close-Up Magic of Randy All of your photographs will be returned undamaged and promptly if you want them back. Personal information will
never be given when posting your photographs
online; and, we never reveal the names of those pictured.

After the Show At this time, Randy will pass any giveaway items agreed upon at booking. Randy will present gift items such as magic sets at this time as well. Once the performance concludes, Randy will tear down his equipment as quickly and as quietly as possible so you can continue with your event. Once everything is packed up and out of the way, Randy will need to meet with you briefly prior to departing. |
